Chapter 4
God’s Promised Rest
4:1 Therefore we must be wary that, while the promise of entering his rest remains open, none of you may seem to have come short of it. 4:2 For we had good news proclaimed to us just as they did. But the message they heard did them no good, since they did not join in with those who heard it in faith. 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my anger, ‘They will never enter my rest!’” And yet God’s works were accomplished from the foundation of the world. 4:4 For he has spoken somewhere about the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works,” 4:5 but to repeat the text cited earlier: “They will never enter my rest!” 4:6 Therefore it remains for some to enter it, yet those to whom it was previously proclaimed did not enter because of disobedience. 4:7 So God again ordains a certain day, “Today,” speaking through David after so long a time, as in the words quoted before, “Oh, that today you would listen as he speaks! Do not harden your hearts.” 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken afterward about another day. 4:9 Consequently a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God. 4:10 For the one who enters God’s rest has also rested from his works, just as God did from his own works. 4:11 Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart. 4:13 And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.
Jesus Our Compassionate High Priest
4:14 Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.
Lord and Savior
Yet, without sin. He cannot sin against himself. ” I and my Father are one.”
4:15 For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin.
Eye.
4:16 Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

I woke up with the above chapter for today.
This post is what ive said all of 2024 in every way God gave me the opportunity to. I will open 2025 the same. The message is forever and for everyone there is a miracle in him.
Whenever i meditate on any passage of scripture it works in me to put me in rest. I am at peace because of my joy in salvation and relationship. i spend time being with him because he truly is who HE SAYS HE IS and he is a wonderful counselor. He teaches me his ways through his word, worship and life application. By beautiful people. By animals and flowers. By his presence that gives everything meaning and good purpose eternally.
He walks with me, he talks with me and he tells me i am his own. Hymns from a long time ago are true to my life and yours. Worship is our response to the word that gave us reality. We understand because we are given knowledge- as we seek, we find.Very comforting in a confusing world.
We dont posess the ability to understand his word without the Holy Spirit on purpose. We dont posess the ability to please God without the saving of his Son. The kingdom structure is holy. Jesus possesses the complete righteousness of the Father and the likeness of man. Knowing the challenges and the straight line to overcoming that exists within himself through his own immutable power and character.
Flesh thinks and behaves according to self desires and is in opposition to righteousness. Unconditional love is extended in grace and mercy for the purposes of turning in repentance. In the surity of grace and the relief of rescue, there is humility, necessary for obedience. All is done in weakness so as to be filled with the word. Spending every moment, grateful in our appointments being filled with the spirit of truth, fiery passion, quenching hospitality and quiet, calming assurance.
Wherever the path of God leads us, it is good.
Whatever the challenge, God has already overcome the circumstances and fashioned them for glory.
God’s ways are clear and convicting. His yoke is light. He will tell you the truth about you so you can heal. He NEVER uses your weakness against you- he is high and holy. He tells the truth about himself, what his kingdom is and why He is God in the first verse. In two words; I am. In one rib; male giving to get back in completion. Much more In two people and the example of unity in the sanctity of marriage. In three, God. and man; the bride of Christ. Meant to understand each other. Sacrifice for each other. Believe in one another for life.
Everything leads back to him. All that is eternal has lived and is living. Formed in the womb.
To be birthed in new manifestations of Gods will on earth that take growth or flight amidst what is ending. This simultaneous shifting has been and will continue to take place as scripture is always keeping time and pace.
If you read one day with the desire to know and love Jesus and asked the Father for the ability to understand in his name- i guarantee the answer is Yes.
Yes and amen. Lets get going and be about the business of applying the word.
Touch the robe yourself. Go up to the well and ask. Get up in the tree and pay attention. Away from the crowd. Pray to your Father in Heaven in Jesus name. Be clear because he is. Humbled at the feet of a risen king! And then be about your Father’s business. You have it all in him. Every resource ontop of his direct presence.
How treacherous man is. We have example after example of increasing negative outcomes by evil doers towards the plans and purposes of God Almighty. His ways are a lamp and his light guides us as it is fortold.
a song ive loved but not thought about for a really long time has been playing inside of me while writing this post. I haven’t seen references to Madonna recently that i can relate the impression to, emphasizing the lyrical beauty to be shared in this moment.
The lord fuses and wrapps his love around all of creation. There is nothing that God hasn’t already redeemed.

The year i graduated from high school.
Madonna was playing in the car ( Holiday) a few years before. I remember hearing her and the dance vibe. I lit up. My best friend and i almost died that night in a car accident. The night,the song and the fog. The crash was caused by a driver driving without headlights on. Disoriented by weather or intoxicants. Everyone survived. Insurance paid for whiplash with a 75.00 check that paid for candy. I was exposed to danger that i had never known. I didnt drive yet and our driver barely had her license. We were young and impressionable with disaster and dance all in one. Could be considered a gift.
Like a virgin was my first casette tape played on my car stereo. I was driving now. Cutlass supreme. Buff yellow paint with tan interior. Mom’s hand me down from my Dad’s twin brother. It was a big deal when we got it. Our families were close then and it was a cool ride. Town car style. My Mom loved the lincoln continental as the ultimate- we got close enough. In high school, its a tough sell. The vw bug was popular along with the ford fiesta and the short lived pacer. It was small and boxy or bubbled- i was riding low and long with mad music. Madonna overlapped with my pull towards R&B. I drove alone to parties because I couldn’t be stuck where i didnt feel safe which is and was most anywhere and the best party was in my car anyways.
‘Get into the groove’ takes me to MTV and the living room of my same best friend. A saturday afternoon. A box of chocolates with 1 bite taken out of every piece as the challenge of creme or caramel, a suprise toffee or walnut overtook any self control so as to not be selfish or glutinous. The sugar high led to dance moves and high kicks and on rewind for years.
Lucky star, Everybody in the mix of lip sync and dance renditions in California. Living room to dance club with vinyl and hi fi. The lyrics printed on the record sleave. The thank you’s, autographs and story on a limited edition. Reading while listening and watching the needle in the base.

It went on in “desperately seeking susan” and fashion. Going beyond the music to wide spread creative pursuits fueled by music and togetherness.
In every decade of my life i can revisit monumental transitions through a song written and produced by Madonna. Those were her transitions too.
Worldly ways can lead to worship. Sadness to a willingness to set aside. A desire to be forgiven and not forgotten. All the emptiness replaced by elation with Jesus.
I want this for her, her children and their children.
Music has pushed us to a place of decision. Beyond any other sector in society.
